I am a physical therapist who specializes in orthopedic and pelvic health conditions. I have received advanced training through Herman and Wallace for pelvic health and I am dry-needling certified through Double-E Education. I also am certified in Integrative lifestyle medicine through the Living Well Institute (Yay Dr. Ginger). My treatment style is also informed by manual therapy, McKenzie, and structural integration techniques as well as my background in dance and sports medicine.
I started my career path at 17 years old when I realized that physical therapy would allow me to follow my passion to help others and fulfill my curiosity about the wonders of the human body. While I never waivered from my path of achieving my doctorate in PT, I enjoyed getting to work in various roles over the years including varying hospitality and fitness roles as well as being a nanny and even a zip-line guide in Alaska! I completed my Bachelor’s degree in athletic training at the University of West Florida in Pensacola before relocating to North Carolina and attaining my Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I consider myself a citizen of the world, having lived and travelled to many different lands and I am an enthusiast for music, food, and culture from all around the world. I believe that diversity, like variety, is the spice of life and I am an ally to all who are trying to be a positive force in the world. I am married and live near Saxapahaw NC with my husband, our two wonderful daughters, as well as our cat, chickens, fish and two bearded dragons. For leisure I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, dancing, singing, and listening to live music.
I have worked as an orthopedic physical therapist specializing in pelvic health for over 3 years now and have learned along the way that the thing that sets me apart from other providers is that I always listen attentively and take the whole-person into account when creating a plan and delivering treatment. This has allowed me to achieve great outcomes with patients who had been bounced from one Dr. to another and “failed” PT multiple times before coming to me. During this journey I learned about Dr. Ginger Garner and her medical therapeutic yoga/ FILM approach and realized that it aligns with my beliefs and practices. I am excited to be a part of her practice and working with her to help patients achieve even greater wellness. My passion is in increasing access to quality healthcare to all and in my “spare time” I am also the founder of a non-profit that is working to achieve that reality.
